Smith and Wesson revolvers are now made with a stupid internal locking mechanism, I think so they can sell them in commiefornia but I could be wrong about that. If you take the lock out it leaves an ugly hole in the frame that could get clogged up with crap. This fixes that. You can remove the lock and replace it with this so it looks nice and removed the lock.
It's much easier on Taurus, where the lock is contained in the hammer. I just pulled the innards, and filled the void with molten lead. Looks acceptable and now I can use a lighter hammer spring.
