Actually, if you accept the multiverse, you might argue that the you that you are "supposed" to be (with all confounding factors ruled out) is gonna make it in at least one possible universe.

I am not attached to any one particular argument here, but the objection "how is God gonna figure out who's really deserving," if God is assumed to exist, is nonsense.

Object to whether God exists or not, but if you assume he exists then you're not in any position (moral or even in terms of understanding) to be assessing his character.
