And herein lies the problem. You are being asked at great cost of time, money, and behavior to believe in something that may very well be invalid. Christians have to take the Bible as historical fact otherwise there is not much point. But once you start picking at the threads the tapestry unravels faster than a skin lampshade. How about the dead popping out of their graves and visiting Jerusalem when Christ is executed? Other than the Bible nobody talks about it. Romans definitely would have reported that one and Jews would have been complaining. Yet... nothing. If Christians aren’t obligated to defend the scriptures then others aren’t obliged to believe it.
