I question the ethics behind this study...
Meaning Automotive assembly plant closures were associated with increases in opioid overdose mortality, highlighting the potential importance of the role of declining economic opportunity in the US opioid overdose crisis.
That's absolute garbage.
"I lost my job because automotive manufacturing left my county. I KNOW! I'll go blow my money on Opiates!"
What other factors are directly responsible for the proliferation of Opiates? Are they also falsely equated specifically to the presence, or lack thereof, of strictly automotive manufacturing job opportunities? They change it up a bit by ambiguously broadening the scope to "economic opportunity", sure, and that's where there's room to get into the specifics of what factors contribute to the spread of Opiates.
Just my 2c. I leave room for the possibility that I've misinterpreted.
