What’s so Norse about it?
[–] theoldones [S] 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago (edited ago)
-races pulled directly from norse lore
-rune magic.
-norse lore describes shapeshifting and sentient talking versions of things which are not human. the races people can actually play as is pretty crazy
-elaborate magic and technology manifesting as magitek. given the amount of complexity in svartalfar creation, it's very explicitly described as the norse knowing about several advanced technologies.
-IE the smashed drone example, this means magitek can actually be broken down into parts, and those parts can then be used to make attempts at upgrading or inventing technology and gear. races like trolls and dark elves are made explicitly to have crafting skill. final created items are subject to dice rolls and results may be chaotic
-setting and world theme
-i want there to be a fate system like in-universe divination
-this was just a blind test run, the full version will use the described layout of the 9 worlds and tree as its world map

Oh wow... I've always wanted to play a Norse-centric D&D campaign. Good times!

prioritizes fucking a corpse, dragging said corpse home, then feeding it to a monster for meat and sustenance
10/10 troll character roleplaying
