I don't believe in love in the sense that most do. I believe it's just chemicals and hormones that aid in two animals wanting to fuck.

I think that's just for protection. Raising children (since, that's really the only reason most animals have sex) is vital to our primal interests. In terms of friends, and social stuff like that, I'm not certain. Maybe it evolved so that there'd be no skirmishes or something like that when hunting / gathering.

That would be lust. I think that love is more designed to help protect the families created through lust.

"baby dont hurt me no more"
Love is a powerful psychological and biochemical reaction in the brain, designed to give procreation a chance to continue the species and to keep society from falling apart. We have so many negative emotions, we need to balance them.

...baby don't hurt me
but for real. It's the feeling of unwavering care and respect for someone, a feeling so strong that it allows one to do anything for that person, regardless of how deleterious it is to one's own person. At least that's how I see it.

Baby don't hurt me....
Seriously though, I think love is when you're able to care more about someone else than yourself.

I care about myself less than anyone else in my life. Do I love them all? Not from an argumentative stand point, but most of my former partners have asked me if I care about them at all so I often wonder if I am capable of love in the traditional sense.

It's just a matter of being able to put someone else first without sacrificing who you are and being happy about it.
