Get some certification. I would personally go with Google Cloud. Cloud is a super important topic for IT. Since you're a graduate I would recommend this https://cloud.google.com/certification/cloud-engineer
It's mostly self-study and the exam fee is only 125 USD.

IF you just want a place you will be able to get a job and foot in door with a compsci degree. The best thing you can do for yourself while you wait and hunt for that right first job.
Look into the Openstack project, and Kubernetes.
I say this because DevOps is the current wave and easiest place to get a foot into the door quickly, and can often be done on a prove my skills type basis. The current wave across the industry is minimalist infrastructure as code.
From a programming perspective, your going to want JSON, Python, 2, and 3, and some JS, node and react at least, when you get into the container portion.
Do some quick volunteer and get your name into the code on some of the Openstack projects and you shouldn't have issues finding a decent paying job.

Identify as Indian
Wear something pink
Have a 3 day unshaven face
Have a week old unshaven ass
Shower with perfume
Don't dress provocative because you will land the job but not the way you intend
Tell them you have a black friend
And for the love of God don't let them think you are white in any way
Talk with an accent and wear a picture of a baboon
If that doesn't work then nothing will

I had a similar problem when i was in college a few years back. I joined a boot camp and I fucking hated their leftist ideas but it showed me what i was missing: you gotta figure out how to make the jump from understanding standalone code, languages, functions, classes, and other bs, to how to actually create an app.
If i were to sum it up here i would say what you have to realize is that the complex apps we have today rely very heavily on already made libraries and frameworks. Like to make an ios app you're probably gonna use the uikit framework to talk to the operating system and also to draw everything on the screen. To have a database youre gonna have to know how to make network requests. Everything you wanna do is done on top of the OS and someone has already made libraries for that functionality. You just gotta figure out what you wanna do.
What you already know how to code is still useful though, and will probably be code that can be rewritten easily for other platforms. The only thing you gotta translate are languages and OS specific approaches.
If you already knew this then i guess i was just projecting and am a fucking regard so disregard.
As for a simple idea, think of a utility you could use and others might find useful too. I work with audio systems so i have an idea of an app that i can use as a tool in my work.
Heres an idea i had to help a cleaning business i know but didnt get around to making. It could probably be adapted for other businesses. Its an app where a client can specify a list of the services they need from the business. Using this list, the business owner can create an estimate, and then have it accessible later for when they actually do the job. If they have employees working, then they can use the list instead. It could even be used as a checklist, timer log, and capture images of the work done for future reference for the owner or the client.
