Linux doesn't have "customers". You OWN it yourself and with that ownership comes responsibilities. It's kind of like having a lawn and complaining that "It doesn't just mow itself? You are trying to tell me that if I want a beautiful lawn I actually have to work?".

The argument here has nothing to do with customers. It's about what he can and can't do using Linux. He can very well DO what he wants to do. But, he's too incompetent to do it. The problem here is, he is blaming Linux for something Linux isn't guilty of. He's ignoring the real problem, which is his own ignorant, lazy, ass.

This is one of several reasons why linsux will never be mainstream.

Others already covered all the other problems. It's not about being lazy.

You are moving the goal post. We aren't talking about if Linux is going to be "mainstream". We are talking about whether Linux can do XYZ. Which it probably can, and where it can't it's a matter of rare edge cases. "Whinedows has a 'Wipe my ass' function and Linux doesn't." Well, sweetheart, if you need Windows to wipe your ass, maybe you should look at yourself.

Others already covered all the other problems. It's not about being lazy.

Like I said, edge cases. 99.9% of all Windows users will survive a migration to Linux. If my computer illiterate mother could do it, a guy writing TPS reports in his cubical can do it too.
