I'm sure we have some real vets here, what are your struggles with "ptsd". I've known a few vets and they're stoic and maybe have nightmares but they're functional, they can work. How real is this stereotype?

Students from high pressure prep schools often have PTSD. It's what happens when a disciplined person is psychologically broken, but he can't resolve his experience the way normies can. Hypertrophy of the superego, suppressed ego, stiff upper lip, etc. They can consciously tell you they are fine, and believe it, but the nightmares just keep coming back.

Based on men living 7-8 years shorter than women, it's probably far more common than acknowledged in a lot of professions. Women are wired to avoid stoicism, probably because excess stoicism is devastating to fertility. The sexual side effects of PTSD are the least talked about and usually the biggest problem.

Yep, that's how those proud nations are treating their surviving cannon feed.

That’s why I ask for military ID.

Difference is one is a monument to soldiers that actually died in service. The other is a bum (soldier or not) that may or may not have served, and in the case that he did serve, wasted his paychecks while serving on whores and a camaro, and likely now has a drug addiction. I can't sympathize with someone who fucked up their own life out of usually sheer stupidity.

And Don Cherry got fired in Canada for saying immigrants should care more about Remembrance Day. I'm starting to think there isn't a whole lot of respect in our society period.

it's a lot more complicated than the cartoon. I have vouched in court for a friend, a vet to keep them out of institutions. The mental health of the VA still needs a lot of work, to be functional. For physical health they do a great job and saved my life when I was down and out. As I'm sitting in the shrinks waiting room with my friend looking at the magazine selection, small plane journals, experimental planes, small jet magazines. More clean up for mental health at the VA needs to take place. Seems they pay too much for too little.

Thank them for their sacrifice. Don't let them anywhere near political office.
