Another modern eye issues thing: I haven't been able to pay much attention when on the computer in maybe a couple of years. I recently bought a pair of those blue blocker glasses and magically I can spend all the time I want on the computer again. The headaches were so subtle I didn't even realize it was a problem.

Tell me more. I haven't heard about this and it sounds interesting.

Most phones have a blue filter app. It really eases your eyes. Somehow blue light damages our eyes. I'd like to link but I'm on the bus. The cops shot 2 unarmed protestors today. So I got that to deal with.

This article gives a good overview of what blue light from screens does to our bodies.

Dark mode on websites and app has been wonderful for me. My eyes are very sensitive to light, so computer and phone screens have a tendency to give me migraines immediately unless I turn down the brightness very low. Dark mode solves that issue almost completely.

I went skydiving for the first time last weekend. Since fatties are too heavy for the parachute, it was 100% fit/thin people. Don't know about you, but being around humans is very relaxing.
There are two races: Heroic Humans, and disgusting fatties.

Hi guys, sorry I've been away for.. forever. I've been generally un-active pretty much everywhere. Just focusing on working and being generally non-social. Hope you're all staying brilliant.

You could say we're doing fabulously! It's nice to see you back.

Pretty sure dark/night mode saves battery a bit too

Night mode is so nice on nights. If I had to browse with the normal mode, I might kill myself after looking back and forth between night activities and the screen.

By the way, could I suggest that this be the new sidebar image? But if you have another one in mind then that's alright!
magaimg and imgtc are both down. Only ibb.co and catbox.moe are up and just realised that this is what's driving a few users here to use imgur.

It is time for a new one. That's good enough for me.

Alright, here's a funny story for you all.
So, my therapist has kids. It was a PA day, so they were both stuck at the clinic. They'd been put in an empty office. So I come into the waiting room, and I hear these little boys screaming bloody murder a few doors down. Growling, screaming, objects being thrown, it sounded like a child gladiator fight in there. The receptionist went in and told the kids off, but not a minute later they were ripping each other to shreds again.
My therapist finishes her previous appointment, and comes out of the office. Goes into the room with her boys to tell them off, and she's gone for a good while.
Then, the receptionist tells me she's cancelling. Her kids were so badly behaved that she COULDN'T EVEN LEAVE THE ROOM TO TELL US IN PERSON. THAT'S HOW BAD IT WAS.
The irony of the situation was unreal, especially since one of the reasons I'm in therapy is for anger management.
That woman has no handle on her children, I swear to god.

Good irony.

Sounds like it's time to find a new therapist
[–] mmmmdonuts 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
Wow. If you didn't get mad at the kids than it's a possibility your anger management is better than hers. Or maybe she needs more anger? Like you can teach her a thing or two?
Fuck I don't know where I'm going with this, but that dr is a complete unprofessional bringing her kids to the office.

I mean, I can understand being stuck bringing in her kids if there is an unexpected last minute school cancelation, but it had been known for the whole week that there wasn't going to be any school. Her job pays well enough that she could find daycare or a babysitter.
For the most part she's been a good therapist, supportive of my fitness (which a lot of therapists aren't for eating disorder patients), but the stuff with her kids ticks me off. It doesn't exactly instill confidence in one's therapist when her children are murdering each other a couple doors over. I've been her patient long enough that I know she's competent at her job, but any first time patient would've been scared off, and I wouldn't blame them one bit.
Also, most of the mental health professionals in my area are fats. She's one of the few skinny fit ones I've seen. I remember at one point being sent for a consult with a morbidly obese pyschiatrist. He had the beside manner of a cactus, and claimed that lorazepam wasn't addictive and I could take it daily without issue (it is a VERY addictive drug). Later there was a young femayo social worker with a brain smaller than her life expectancy who didn't understand a word I was saying (and also happened to be very deferential to the aforementioned obese pyschiatrist.
This kind of turned into a rant. Basically, the mental healthcare system is a joke.

Tell her she should try beating her kids just a little.
