Ahh I almost forgot about that band. They're not as bad as everyone made them out be. There are worse bands. Can't listen to this song though.

Yeah, it became like a meme to hate on them. Although I love the first two lines of the song. They have become a hilarious symbol of mediocre songs in my mind. And on the other hand, they wrote the theme song to Serenity. I probably only like the song due to my heavy association with that movie.

My parents scoffed the bullshit I listen to when I was a kid. Now I scoff at the bullshit my kids listen to.

I've noticed my desire to listen to music is diminishing, as well as shifting to classical for the times I do listen. I still listen to hippy 60s and 70s rock, and the occasional new song that is interesting. But overall, 99%+ of music really is garbage.

I heard this on the radio while in the car today among all the other junk. It stuck in my mind enough to look it up when I got home, probably because of the Major Tom lyric parts, and I liked some of David Bowie's music: Peter Schilling - Major Tom (Coming Home). It uplifted my spirit while stuck in traffic, which is rare.

(((American))) music is terrible today with very few exceptions. Don't expect anything you hear in public or on the radio to be actual music anymore.

There is more music being produced than ever before, meeting a wide, almost infinite variety of tastes and preferences. Now that doesnt mean it's all good...in fact, most of it is shitty, but there is some definitely some stuff you will like out there...you just gotta sift through the stuff you dont like. Listening to music has become a largely individual experience in the modern day of information overload.
