Startpage/Ixquick exclusively uses results from Google, which Startpage pays Google for.

This claim is FALSE:
DuckDuckGo is owned by (((Gabriel Weinberg))) and uses (((Google))) backend. Alleged.
This claim is not accurate:
Total bullshit. Duckduckgo uses Bing, not google.
DuckDuckGo (DDG) does NOT use the Google API for search results. "In fact, DuckDuckGo gets its results from over four hundred sources".

Interesting that one needs to use a search product from EU for privacy.
"Qwant is a European web search engine, launched in July 2013 and operated from Paris. It's not the only EU-based search engine with its own indexing engine. It claims not to employ user tracking and doesn't personalize search results in order to avoid trapping users in a filter bubble. It is available in 13 languages."
