How are they getting to the sensor without tripping the sensor?

Pretty tricky.

Do these same tactics work at Area 51? They have vibration sensors in the ground there, too.

I imagine the same tactics might work better at Area 51. Size of Area 51 vs size of US/Mex border does not compare. Plus this sensor is to see if vehicles are on a road, so it’s not really apples to apples. Also, hordes of rapists and cartel smugglers aren’t attempting to traffic humans and drugs into Area 51. And it’s worth noting those fellas were able to approach, locate, dig up the sensor and hardware, take photos, and move away freely without being detained in the middle of nowhere. So maybe they are not super effective at Area 51 either, at least so far as detaining anyone.

How silly. Metal transmits vibration far better than dirt. They would have a much greater effectiveness when attached to metal.

The guy stopped before entering the restricted area. I'd be happy if all the illegals stopped without entering America. Would you call that ineffective, too?
