Oh yeah, goes down all the time, I'm use to it, don't care, I just come back later. Get's bad when things are happening of someone posts something (((They))) don't want you to see.
Honk Honk, it's just clowns at play. Doesn't matter, they already lost, it's just a matter of time until they will be looking for new jobs, McDonald's? Kek

I archive without a need for offline.
A decent GET / POST crawler will map the entire site quickly.
I do per thread so maybe there is an IP lookup that locks such attempts out. I know 8chan did per IP tracking and request denial.
Most DDOS mitigation works by threading and pushing all requests for content to the same parent or only allowing single IPs a single request

I have been able to get it to take me to second page almost every time that trick doesn't work; I miss-typed voat.co/v/all and instead entered voat.co/all one time and it brought me to that page even though nothing else worked, I could see my CCP and SCP and it recognized me as logged in voat were really under attack I would imagine all server queries would lead to the same page no matter what you typed.
Also worth noting that sometimes when the servers are down I can access the page on the boat app on android it's something like "boat for voat" in the playstore, don't even need to use a login to browse voat even though it requires a login in a browser.

I was really disheartened when Voat started to get shut down for large swathes of time from the 'military grade' Ddosing in the weeks before Epstein being arrested. Previously to that I watched several Reddit subreddits get banhammered for random charges like 'brigading' one by one. 8chan got banned in Australia for months on end. Now a days Voat is a pretty sorry affair, (((they))) keep a close eye on this website and can obscure relevant posts with enough new semi-interesting posts to get it off the feed and buried very quickly. Check out this document on techniques for misdirection, dilution and control of internet forums.... https://athens.indymedia.org/media/old/cointelpro_techniques_for_dilution....pdf
Seeing these rare avenues of discussion and news-sharing get fucked with one by one was depressing. The internet is heavily, heavily censored and the average Joe has no idea...

years ago just about every entertainment media company online had there own forum for talking about tv shows and movies. the companies them selves closed down theses forums when they figured out that controlling the discussions on the forum was problematic unless some money and resources were spent doing this.

Voat community is deliberately being strangled. There's zero reason for the downtime.
Code, cost and brute-force attacks aren't acceptable excuses.
A free WordPress installation with a free brute-force protection plugin would perform better than Voat currently is. Downtime is deliberate.

If you get logged out going to voat homepage gets me a 'too many redirects'. Seems like a bug that would be fixed immediately if someone was behind the wheel. Putts last post was a month ago (u/PuttItOut). Definitely feels like something is going on. Maybe he just got tired of dealing with this shit too, who knows.

What's weird is....I use voat in a Virtual Machine, Brave browser with a fuckton of extensions. I just unpacked chrome on my VM...no extensions and it worked the very first time. Could be Brave...could be an extension. Our enemies use them too so maybe Putt and team are working something on the back end. Maybe not.
(Theory, since I don't know the particulars of the Voat set-up)
You normally get a different 'session' cookie on each instance of a browser. Each session cookie gets routed to a particular backend server (may or may not be different). If that backend server happens to be overloaded, you're out of luck for the browser(s) using that server.

Yes all throughout the day. Easily could be honey pot here now. With no new members allowed we are all just a rat in a cage
