Likely because some asshat (also banned) was spamming the shit out of it

If you look through the banlog everything has a reason of spam. It would be nice if it was searchable pr at least alpahabetizable. Because as is you have to scroll through each page looking for each domain. So, probably someone spammed us w it at some point

Got it, I saw that at a glance and foolishly thought it was just about /u/vdare being banned. Thank you.

A good summary is here, from the last time this was asked: https://voat.co/v/AskVoat/3417443/20502717/20?#20502717
An official Vdare account Spammed it a bit 3 months ago, and it was temporarily banned for self-promotion. Did it again weeks later after a warning, and got it banned permanently.

I see, thank you.
That's a shame, some of the content is quite good.
If I use an archive link to vdare if I wanted to discuss an article, would that get me in trouble for circumventing the ban? It seems like the site was banned as a result of a bad user, more than the site itself.

It was banned due to the self promotion rule: no more than 50% of your submissions can be that domain. So, as long as they aren't 50% of your submissions, nobody's going to care.

As long as you limit it to 50% of your submissions.

And now that I think about it, thats a nice way of getting us to ban stuff we might like. Jew spams Vdare, poof

Yes, that does seem like an exploitable flaw.
