Probably because David Cameron has no spine, much like most of the front bench MPs at Westminster.

Because they don't care about people and want to be friendly with Indonesia. Simple.

There is also a pretty overwhelming difference between the Indonesian government and IS. It is kind of silly to compare them. I've actually lived in Indonesia, and while I absolutely agree that the Indonesian government isn't particularly good there is no anti-christian movement there. At all. I know very little about what is happening in Papua to be honest, but having been through many other parts of Indonesia the majority are Muslims yes, but there are Christians Buddhists and Hindus in almost every community and they almost all live quite peacefully. Indonesia is by far the most diverse place I have ever been (excluding some areas of certain western cities) and I have never seen any religious tension. The situation with the Papuans is almost surely a political one, perhaps framed religiously, but not actually so.

Just because there is a confrontation between a Muslim community and a christian one doesn't definitively mean that it is a religiously based conflict. People of varying religions can fight about things other than just religion.

You miss my point. I don't want to stress the muslim aspect - I want to stress the disproportional reporting by the global media of two horrendous situations - which with your lack of knowledge (even though you have lived in Indonesia) confirms.

The genocide in Indonesia has been going on since the Dutch left their gold mining operations in 1963. WARNING: Graphic Images (NSFW) - Papua New Guinea Genocide
