Talk show host Rick Zeoli has been saying this too. The Constitution specifies that only Congress can declare war. The President can defend the nation if attacked, but we shouldn't have our military all over the world unless Congress has authorized it. If these Senators want our military to go babysit the Kurds, then they damn well should go on the record as authorizing it.
I personally do not like the idea that our young men and women are asked to go sit around in a dangerous country to act as human shields for groups like the Kurds. Yes we may have fought ISIS together, but they allied with us because it was in their best interests, not as a favor to us because they love the USA so much.
