Optics and positioning?

"If media reports are accurate and Turkey has entered northern Syria — a disaster is in the making."

"Pray for our Kurdish allies who have been shamelessly abandoned by the Trump Administration. This move ensures the reemergence of ISIS."

To DS & Neocons (I repeat myself) this positions Lindsay on their "good guy" list. Still a Trump sleeper though.

"Will lead effort in Congress to make Erdogan pay a heavy price."

Will work with Trump to destroy Turkish economy if they act badly.

"I urge President Trump to change course while there is still time by going back to the safe zone concept that was working."

More positioning for optics.

Few republicans really give a rats ass about the Kurds in Syria and Ergodan going potentially after them. No real political downside in this positioning by Lindsay. In a likely coming reality, they will partner with Syria; become partners with Assad and Russia.

Turkey is a NATO ally. By which treaty are the Kurds allies?

There has to be a reason President Trump is doing this now - he knows something even Lindsay doesn't know. I know it is very hard on him every time a service member dies, but this seems to be more than that. Who is he trying to catch?
