It's the natural progression of euthanasia. Mercy killing gradually morphs into convenience killing. That's one reason it is strictly against the Christian moral code. Christians don't murder the sick, they care for the sick. They try to make the sick more comfortable when they are dying, but they never deliberately take away their life.

I'm morally opposed to prolonging a demented person's life by 5+ years artificially until all you have left is an empty shell. I don't say they should be euthanized: but I see no reason to unnessecarily prolong the life of those suffering from severe dementia.

Which is great in my opinion but to take the choice away from others is treason and I don’t care which god you pray to... fuck with We The People ... pay the price with the entire bloodline wiped from the earth. Could you watch your loved ones killed because of your own personal beliefs ?
Stay away from my rights and live your life in peace.

The court ruled that in rare cases of euthanasia that were being performed on patients with severe dementia—and who had earlier made a written request for euthanasia—the doctor "did not have to verify the current desire to die."
So the story is this: you see your parents die of dementia. You see how bad it gets. You make your advance directive: "When my time comes I want euthanasia. I don't want to drain the cup of life completely. I don't want to swallow the bitter dregs at the bottom."
Eventually, the time comes and is bad. You can no longer remember what you have seen of the bitter dregs at the bottom of the cup of life. What then?

Why are you reading the article? You're supposed to just accept that there is no raisins for her death and they just kill old people willy-nilly.

Sorry Grandma, your time is up. We need your place to house some moslem immigrants.

I think the US could benefit from this practice on certain populations

Really shows how nobody read the article...

Most people don't read anything more than can be compressed into a tweet or a facebook post. The so called "red-pilled" people here are as easily deceived as the rest of the population.

Euthanizing against their will. So straight up murder.
[–] Morbo 3 points 5 points 8 points (+8|-3) ago
Not if you call it "population control". There are many dumb and smart people alike (including Voat users) who will advocate for this happening if you call it population control. The pop-control advocates are always into it, unless of course they are the ones being controlled against their will.

It was a 74 year old woman with severe dementia. Have you ever seen some one with severe dementia?
Death is better.

Fundamentally, Socialists and AnCaps agree that the socially dependent classes must be abandoned or exterminated once hope of future profit is existinguished.

She put her desire to be euthanized in writing when she had her faculties. I would want the choices I made while I had a sound mind to override my choices when I had severe dementia or Alzheimer's, that's the point.
