I want to see the doctor about this sore throat, but if he asks me to open my mouth and say ahhhh then i'm fucking out of here

Good luck. It's taking me FOREVER to find a new family dr, and the last one I did find was awful.
Plus, the dr will be happy to see such a speshul snowflake disappear. He/She knows all about you whiny bitches.

I only go to the dr once every 2 years for a mandatory physical for my job credentials. Went to make an appointment this summer and the soonest they could get me in was two fucking months away. For a simple physical. Doctors arent hurting for patients, not when half the country are obeasts with long lists of " non-obesity related conditions."
That's what I was thinking it's hard to find a good doctor, I actually need to look for a new one as mine is going to retire soon

Sounds like a good way to get rid of your fat activist patients! Clever!

Wow. You are denying him your patronage? That seems like a fair trade for your life.

I don't get not wanting to know facts about your own body. But, then again, I take great care to keep mine at the best level I can. I love knowing my blood pressure, heart rates, hydration levels, weight, muscle mass, all of it.

They want a doctor that will tell them what they want to hear, not what they need to hear. They dont want actual help, they just want to be told theyre healthy. Pathetic. No dr, i do not wish to discuss my smoking. That is not the issue here, it has nothing to do with my health. I practice intuitive smoking. I just want you to fix my lung cancer.

What's galling is how badly this type of person handles it when the inevitable catches up with them. Anyone can break down under the stress of serious illness. But the people who know for a fact that it's a result of their own choices are usually horrible about accepting it. I think in large part because they start out framing it as something with only personal impact.
But life doesn't work like that and neither does terminal illness. When we're dying it's often the people who love us that are hit the hardest. We know that the pain is going to be over fairly soon for ourselves. But we're struck with the realization that whatever we created around us is our final gift to the people we care about the most. And in the case of lifestyle related illness, people see just how much they've hurt their loved ones and know it's 100% on their own shoulders. They find out that their own unwillingness to tackle an addiction, or even just a personal indulgence, will result in mental scars that will last the lifetime of their spouse and kids.
People tend to run from that kind of thing. They can't handle the personal responsibility and try to deflect it on ANYONE. Not just the medical professionals trying to keep them alive. But often times even lashing out at their own families. Whose love makes it so hard to deal with in the first place.
The people who cover their ears and eyes at the doctor when it's about something serious are usually a ticking timebomb for everyone around them.

Like people who ignore warning lights and then tell the mechanic they have no idea why the engine broke down.
Wasting people’s time and accomplishing nothing just to indulge their own laziness.
