eh....not quite. There is a case to be made concerning online security, and security of your devices. If you have not done so, read this expose on Nigerian scammers. It is very very instructive. Consider what their business is, how sizable it is, and how this guy obtained the info. The latter is most instructive.

Also, peruse the Kali linux page to get some idea what tools are out there to hack.

Goto XDA-developper for smartphone software alternatives.

You might want to contemplate the commonalities between the 2nd amendment and knowing/ understanding ITSEC. Who is robbing you blind? Overbearing tech on the wings of .gov protections or a group of people interested in taking a stand against it. And then this: why are they no regular Joe's there? Because most regular Joe's have no interest in understanding what they are actually using and doing and staging a protest. Besides: It is more complex than just a weapons platform like AR-15. You get what you pay for.

But the security type of thinking in real life weapons, is the same, as in ITSEC. It is the same with scuba diving, rockclimbing and a host of other activities. Hell, even buying a new car, due to multimedia integration, forces this type of thinking on your ass.

So, you have a choice. You either wait for .gov to save you hide, or you start doing it. Which one is more American? Communists wait for .gov.

You would have to learn:

- the platform you are using in both hard- and software

- a new skill sets

Most platforms are built with easy of use in mind. It looks graphically beautiful, enticing to the eye. Meanwhile, it sucks your system through backdoors of all your data. Right now, people are still linking youtube video's, and have not learned to use alternatives. That is the level of laziness, from where

So before you dismiss something, just because of kneejerk: Communists! Read the fucking proposition and consider how you can benefit from it. True, in public, there are different views on privacy. But privacy is a choice. What are you willing to do, to keep which level of privacy.

What it does, is it frees you from group think. O ... here is the latest windoooooz version, and follow the rush. Instead it empowers you to take the steps you need and want.
