I’ve chartered overnight on the Vision. It’s not unusual for an overnight dive charter boat to be at anchor off the island at 3 am. Fire moves fast on a boat. Especially when all are asleep and packed in below decks. People carry tons of personal electronics on board. I could see a fire starting near a p-way and trapping those sleeping below.

Was the boat steel, aluminum, fiberglass or wood? Was it gas powered or diesel? In the likely fiberglass/diesel case it would only take one crew member to pour some gas into a stairwell and light it and then wake the crew so they all jump while the passengers perish. One or two high-value passengers would be plenty to justify this for the cabal. In another scenario the fire may have been started by a DEW like the "forest fires" and the Santa Rosa fires.
