First I've heard of it, but like most conspiracy theories there is an element of truth to it. The additional trappings of population control and intentional introduction are probably disinfo released to stop the spread of the truth. Lyme disease has existed for hundreds of years and its history is well documented:

https://publichealth.yale.edu/news-article/15651/

Even if it wasn't properly understood. The disease was first described from neurological problems following tickbites in the 1920s. It wasn't formally discovered until 1975

The full syndrome now known as Lyme disease was not recognized until a cluster of cases originally thought to be juvenile rheumatoid arthritis was identified in three towns in southeastern Connecticut in 1975, including the towns Lyme and Old Lyme, which gave the disease its popular name.[248] This was investigated by physicians David Snydman and Allen Steere of the Epidemic Intelligence Service, and by others from Yale University, including Stephen Malawista, who is credited as a co-discover of the disease.[249] The recognition that the patients in the United States had EM led to the recognition that "Lyme arthritis" was one manifestation of the same tick-borne condition known in Europe

The cause, infection by the spirochete B. burgdorferi was not identified officially until 1985.

However although the disease existed and was reported it was also very isolated, nearly extinct until recently. Now it has been reported in all 50 states spreading out of new england, with hundreds of cases every year. The conspiracy theory, and it is very likely true, is that the disease was researched at a bioweapons facility on an island in new york. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plum_Island_Animal_Disease_Center

This research used ticks as a vector for a potential release against the soviets. The research did not pan out, but the island receives many migratory birds and the occasional swimming deer. Which allowed many of the infected ticks to spread into the wild. Here is some more info:

Note that this doesn't mean Lyme was invented or didn't exist in America before it was weaponized and released on the population, but likely we would not have the literal epidemic of tick-borne diseases that is seen today.

They have no reliable detection methods until its too late, or so we are told. Is it more profitable to cure a disease or to treat the symptoms?
