Organic labels?

Can you give examples. Other than bags of rice or beans what else do you buy? If it's processed doesn't matter if organic or not, still crap.

no reason you should feel ripped off buying organic fruits, veggies and meats.

No...non organic processed foods contain much more salt and sugar!

Many products use high fructose corn syrup instead of real sugar. Guaranteed diabetes!

I hear people complain my peanut butter doesn't have a lot of flavor. It's peanuts and oil. Only 1 gram of sugar and hardly any salt.

I say if you want it to taste like the inside of a Reece's Peanut butter cup go buy one!

I forgot about peanut butter. Wife gets the Laura Schudders ( something like that) organic peanut butter, pretty damn good. Jif and those brands are crap.

I guess jam too, but she gets back organic as well.

I rarely eat sweets, so rice, oatmeal, and black beans are pretty much the only packaged food I buy, always organic.. Othwise I just eat meat, veggies, nuts and blueberries. I freaking love blueberries.

Even if the "Organic" label means no pesticides, hormones, etc., that only covers how produce is grown. What happens after it is harvested does not affect the "Organic" label. You can irradiate it, you can spray it with preservatives, and more: it's still considered "Organic".

You cannot spray preservatives on food and label it organic.

It's all about the certifiers: Oregon Tilth, CCOF, a few others are trustworthy (for now, if the FDA allows gmos into organics, then it won't matter anymore).

Many others, esp. QAI, can easily be bought off.

This is kind of scary, which is why my wife insists we avoid corn and soy as much as humanly possible: https://www.securingindustry.com/food-and-beverage/organic-food-fraud-farmer-commits-suicide-ahead-of-prison/

"Organic" is a meaningless phrase. You should be buying free-range, hormone-free meat. Vegetables don't matter if they're "organic" or not, those just tend to be much higher quality. If you buy at a farmer's market, you'll beat the price in stores every time.
