I intentionally made the ugliest possible character that I could in Dragon Age: Origins. I was playing a Dwarf and I expected dwarves to be ugly.

Another example. If you pick the women in call of duty you are 9 times out of 10 a degenerate. And i should know.

I play as Reaper in Overwatch because he's an asshole just like me.

Picking Overwatch as an example is not the greatest choice - the abilities of each character are tied to their appearance in fundamental ways.

You can't be Junkrat without looking like you're on at least a little meth, and you can't be that ice chick without having a big ol' ass.

Does that mean the person wanted this? No, they probably wanted to drop scrap mines and throw ice walls at people, but the game only lets you do that as those characters.

Beautiful people disguising themselves as fugly people is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Wanting to play as a cool character just makes you a little boy mentally. If you want to play as a hot chick you're a teenager, mentally. If you just pick whatever, you're a grown-up.
