If he has the piece in hand, I would prepare to draw down on him if I didn't actually do it. You can't brandish your weapon irresponsibly.

Let's say we accept that this guy is a criminal. Same as a burglar, or terrorist. Not true, but that's the narrative, so let's play along. He's a criminal. And how was he stopped from his crime and detained for the authorities? By a person with a gun, that's how. Would detaining him with a strongly worded letter have yielded compliance?

I just wonder how he was carrying it. If it was in his hands then yes, he should get into trouble. That is brandishing and not open carry. But if it was in his back and his sidearm holstered then he did nothing wrong. Yes, quite a bit careless with the body armor and everything.

He walked into and out of the store almost immediately after fire alarms went off. Just possessing a lawful firearm is possibly getting this 20 year old guy 4 years in prison. He is literally being charged with making a terrorist threat.
The clincher for me, this kid is being called a terrorist for carrying a firearm, but he was detained by an off-duty firefighter who was....carrying a firearm.

Have you read somewhere it seem video of him holding the weapon? Going into Walmart with a weapon in your hand is definitely against the law.
