I don't follow you. I don't know planes but I do know embedded systems in general. OP is right, if you have any CANbus gear it is hackable. There is no authentication so anyone who gets physical access can override what's on the bus. Imitate any device and modify any data. As to how this applies to airplanes specifically I don't know, but that's just how such a bus works. Maybe you can fly manually but your instruments are screwy, I don't know what is possible and of course it would depend on the specific plane.

No, canbus aside. People arent sneaking around rewiring planes. 😐

Look I don't have the domain knowledge here to take a position as to what is or isn't being done, except to reiterate that hacking a CANbus in general is just a matter of clipping in to the existing wires. I mean attaching a little device no bigger than your thumb, not "rewiring" the plane. I think you are maybe unaware or in denial of the extent to which your plane runs software... or maybe you fly a much older plane and it's a non issue. Anyway carry on fren.

edit Also you don't have to physically attach to the wires if there is any device on the CANbus that takes a firmware update, you can flash it with malicious firmware and this would allow it to dick with anything on the bus in all sorts of ways. Not gonna catch that with any level of visual inspection.
