FWIW - I'm not arguing against it. But it's just as easy to say there is a spaceship or a subterranean elephant farm without thinking through the facts. First, there needs to be a definition of a "missile" (half-baked hypothesis).

Are we talking about a MANPAD or an SA-400? The support required to launch either GATM is very different.

Was the concept of a silo based in anything other than speculation? Was there a source for this idea?

Are you starting to understand where I am coming from? I'm all for any idea. It needs to be supported somehow. Especially when OP says it wasn't his idea. A link or something.

Otherwise, we are on the same sheet of music. I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm using Socratic Method.

Boring Company.

It is common to build a berm around a rocket launch pad to prevent hot propellant from spilling everywhere. Admittedly, not common to leave a car sized entrance to the berm, though.

The berm is also high up on the mountain (so there is room below). But why play Mayan handball (or Tennis) way up high away from the beaches, and inside some berms that hide the views surrounding you?

It wasn't OP's idea, it's something that's been floating around on the research boards for at least a year. There's no link for it, it's just an idea.

All this time and we're still no closer to learning what the purpose of this berm'd area is.

I had a few seconds to look into Mayan sacrificial rites today. Nothing stuck out, but I only scratched the surface. I'd be curious to know. Also need to do some known size estimating for the dimensions of the "field".

Initial looks, I'd say the berms are 5-6' high. 45 degree slope. Enough to really slow someone (injured) down.

Unfortunately, IRL is calling me for the next few days starting now. I'll be thinking about it though. Lemme know if you find anything.
