He will be the martyr of some, but not even the majority of his own party. The Republicans are still a national party because their most passionate can fund their efforts. They have been unwilling to budge on a number of views that are politically unpopular and will become even more unpopular as younger voters come of age and white people become the minority.
Granted, things can change (America could have a religous awakening for example). But right now, my money is on the democratic party.
Since you can't evaluate a political statement without knowing where a man stands, I live in liberal state and lean conservative for that state on the belief that we've become entirely uncompetitive for business.
Trump will not be barred from the debates. I believe Fox News (duh) has already established the criteria for whom they will include, and if Trump meets that threshold, they won't exclude him.
Of course the rest of the candidates hate him because he's sucking out all the air in the room, and none of them can get any real coverage. Plus, he's dragging the Republican party towards the lunatic fringe--not out of principle--but only to stroke his own ego and get his Q-rating higher. He's not a serious political candidate, he'll NEVER win any election, and his antics are 100% self-serving. I predict that if he's forced to conform to a rigid debate protocol, he'll fare poorly and his opponents will eviscerate him.

I don't know, that McCain jab was not a shout against political correctness.
