Man, when I first learned about goths, I was really excited and expected them to dress like noir Victorian London people or discuss gothic architecture.
Imagine my face when I saw a bunch of edgelords and fatasses wearing clothes that were either too tight on them or looked like oversized rags, poorly applied lipstick, and angsty haircuts that didn’t have any thought put into them. Doesn’t help that I enjoy some gothic bands but don’t want anything to do with their fanbases.

I misread that as "when I first learned about girls." I was wondering what kind of upbringing you had.
