Madison, WI

2 separate electrical substation fires occur at the same time, miles apart. They mention it casually - but don't take the issue any further.

I just got a NEW transformer on my power pole (15th) AND yesterday got a whole new electrical service wire from street to house because air conditioner guy found a power imbalance (119 - 123 on each leg)....now (122 - 122) shorting AC fan and flickering lamps (on lowest setting) CURED! AC guy says it can damage your stuff. In fact Power company guy burned out my emergency generator switch (smoking) when he disconnected my power by taking the meter out of the meter box. Says it's not his responsibilty because he called his boss. Looks like once again, shitty workers gonna cost me MONEY.

Tangentially. Corruption in government leads to crumbling infrastructure and a population that can't be sustained. If our borders were closed and we only had Americans in America, and politicians that cared about keeping the country running, we'd be fine.

2019-07-16 | Heat wave could cause power outages in New York City, Chicago, D.C.

'An upcoming heat wave could lead to power outages in the central and eastern U.S., including the major metropolitan areas of New York City, Washington and Chicago, experts say. '

'A widespread blackout Saturday in New York City left much of Manhattan without electricity. ', "Christina Harper, a spokeswoman for Pepco, said the city's primary public utility company is preparing for power outages, although it is not necessarily expecting them."

'Con Edison said Tuesday that demand for power in Westchester County and New York City was 10,541 megawatts. '

'That is well below the highest demand for power in history, Drury said, which happened during a heat wave in July 2013. '

How conveeeenient. And reasonable. It's hot as fuck and a (ten) million muricans cranking up the AC on a friday evening is... Well, that's 'murica: prioritizing personal comfort above pretty much anything else.

If the convenience-fueled brownouts provide cover for MILOPs, so much the better. "Never let a crisis go to waste" (- rahm emmanuel, paraphrased) and soforth.

Hot days like today account for 1% of the run hours but 20% of the capacity requirements. In places like NYC, it makes the grid utilization efficiency very low, like 60% instead of 90%

You got the idea. To a tee. I strongly suggest loading up the Mossberg or Glock should the SNB's decide to take advantage of the opportunity later today to go out and 'chimp' in large numbers.
