There are two on Netflix right now I would recommend. Primer and Transfer.
Both movies are best watched if you know nothing about them before you watch them. I will tell you, they are both quiet movies. Not a lot of action. Primer will require some thought to follow along.

Ghost in the Shell, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and maybe Blade Runner.

Seen them all.

As well as all five versions of Blade Runner that were included on the 5-disc Ultimate Collectors Edition?

Here is my list of damn fine Sci-Fi. If you see a title here that you haven't watched, DON'T read reviews, synopsis, etc. Just watch and be naturally entertained by a story you haven't experienced before. I'm also not going to go into great detail about the plot of each - I personally HATE going into a movie and knowing basically what it's all about...genre and vague. nearly ambiguous plot is precisely enough for me so that's all I'm giving here. Each movie can be appreciated purely on it's own merits. You will likely have seen/heard of a lot of these, but I'm making a list of what I consider to be good sci-fi, and only leaving out the genre defining heavy weights (Alien/s for instance). WARNING: Not really spoilers, but god damn nearly worthless plot summaries ahead. Seriously though, if you haven't heard of one of these, or you have but don't know what it's about, you WILL enjoy it - stay away from all types of spoilers and criticism. You may not fall in love with all of them, but I think you will agree that none of these are trash.
Europa Report (The first manned mission to Europa)
Pandorum (Man had to leave earth because of over population and over use of natural resources. Slight snag along the way)
Avatar (Man finds planet rich in a rare-on-earth resource and kitties)
A.I. (Android boy mingles with meatbags)
Cargo (Swiss movie about a cargo ship - you will need subtitles)
District 9 (Some fookin' bugs fly in from space)
Edge of Tomorrow (Some bugs fly in from space)
Ex Machina (Brilliant guy makes something brilliant)
Event Horizon (Take a shit and piss prior to watching this)
Forever Young (A love story from a mans perspective)
Gravity (Sandra Bullock does space gymnastics in spandex undies for 2 hours....my god)
Gattaca (a man lies and cheats his way to the top)
Godsend (cloning is weird shit)
Greenlantern (sci-fi/fantasy comic book movie) IDK if it would be sci-fi exactly, but I feel like it belongs
Inception (man makes a career out of dreaming)
In Time (Time is money)
Interstellar (man flies out into space)
Judge Dredd (classic 80s action in futuristic filthy gritty sci-fi society)
Jupiter Ascending (this movie is fantastic without reading critical shit about it)
Limitless (drug addict proves drugs are good for you)
Matrix trilogy (nothing to say here)
Moon (goob loses his shit in space)
Outlander (space man crashes in viking territory)
Predators (unrelated to the originals other than the predators themselves)
Riddick trilogy (buff dude beats ass)
Serenity [also: accompanying series. Season two is great)
The Abyss (movie about an abyss)
The Darkest hours (the electricity dies and people go poof)
The X-Files: Fight the Future/I want to believe (2 separate movies)
Terminator (all movies)
The Vanguard (one of the best indies I've ever seen - it takes time to get into but well worth it)
This is most of my list. There are many more that are also great, but these are the standouts that I regard rather highly for various reason. Some of these get some/a lot of negativity, but if you just watch them without reading the criticism you will enjoy them. I have quit reading any type of criticism or watching nay type of trailers and the amount of movies I enjoy has tripled.

Good list and I've seen all of them.

BONUS:
Splinter (more horror than sci-fi, but...you will see. Fantastic indie)
CHEATER BONUS:
Star Wars 4-6 and 1-3
Star Trek - something like 12 movies
I have a soft spot for Pandorum. It's not perfect, but everyone is so committed on screen etc.
Seeing Forever Young listed reminds me of "Frequency" (another one starring Denis Quaid). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0186151
A strange Twilight Zonish story about a father and son communicating via CB radio thru time with a crime thriller plot for them to solve. Has some moments that Looper took to the Nth degree in terms of actions in the past affecting things in the present.

I really like Sunshine and consider it to be a spiritual sequel to Event Horizon
If you don't mind older stuff I loved Space Hunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone It still holds up after watching it recently
And for more modern stuff I thought Guardians of the Galaxy was the best space opera since Return of the Jedi

Outlander (silly spaceman in viking times adventure, playing with the beowulf/grendel legend) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462465/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2
Phantasm (the whole series - low budget horror mostly but has a lot of really weird unique SF stuff going on) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079714/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Edit: Another oldie and weirdie XTRO http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086610/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
