I was born and raised in the upper midwest and that's where I am now.
She was born and raised in new England where I spent enough time (3 years) to know I didn't like it.
I like the manufacturing and logistics fields for work.

There's a lot to that. Some places like Oregon seem to result in divorce. Then there's cost of visiting family.
Find the average weather over a four day period for the four Seasons. Light, rainfall, humidity, Demographics for the town, industry, etc.

I’m originally from the Midwest as well, moved to Florida and lived in Palm Beach County for 6 years. I moved away for a change of pace in 2017, but will probably move back to Florida at some point. Guns and Beaches, check. Sounds like you guys value weather too and Florida is also very tough to beat in that regard, especially if you consider California to be a non-option like I do. I wouldn’t worry about hurricanes if you live in anything less than 15 years old due to newer impact building codes. You could literally sit in your house through anything a hurricane will throw at you... biggest risk is lost power in your area for an extended period. If you choose a single family home, just make sure to buy a generator BEFORE a hurricane is looming. West Palm Beach and Delray Beach have some good areas, but unfortunately cozy up a bit too close to the nig-infested neighborhoods. If I move back to Palm Beach County, I would choose Jupiter or Palm Beach Gardens (good public schools)... but I’m also considering the Gulf Coast, probably St. Pete area.
Good Luck - let me know if you have any other questions!
