He's known me for his entire life.
He should know there are raincoats in behind the seat.
He damned well also should know to fold them back up, put them back in their cases, and put them back exactly where he found them.
He usually does alright. He's still pretty young. He's happy, healthy, and productive. He's shown a willingness to work hard and to be humble when needed. He'll be alright.
I used to drag him to the fields and make him rake blueberries - which is back-breaking labor. I paid him by the pound, just like everybody else. He understands hard work. For all my bitching, he's a pretty good kid.

The fact that he’s willing to work hard and has an understanding that work is work and also will sometimes require labour will put him head and shoulders above a lot of his peers.

I'm not actually sure how, but I seem to have raised good kids. He will be fine. I'm not nearly as proud of him as I am of his sister. I love her the most, but he's alright!
I tell him this, too. His sister is my favorite. She won the race to make me a grandfather. He could have been my favorite, but he's too stupid to figure out how to make babies. I really tell him that.
I have no idea how I have healthy children.
