Probably bought the knives at one of those god damn travelling Knife Shows. No background check required...

Well we can't blame "gun violence" for this one. Maybe we'll begin focusing more on "knife violence" or "sword violence".
Or maybe we'll fess up to the fact that we have an epidemic of violence in this country that is fueled by underfunded mental health services and over prescribed mental health drugs.
I can't help but think that this might have been related to the homeschooling. These kids didn't go out of the house much, and weren't allowed to be with other kids. In an echo chamber like that, who knows what mental state they were in.

KNIVES KILL PEOPLE - WE NEED KNIFE CONTROL
Imagine how many lives could be saved if we required everyone to get a permit and register with a government agency before purchasing knives? It's one of the greatest failures of our government and society that we can't protect ourselves from people who can't control themselves with a knife.
Wait... that doesn't make sense..... it's obviously the person who did it - not the knife.

So when are we going to sit down and have the Knife Control discussion? Shouldnt there be background checks?

Heh, I find it amusing that Voat would use this story as an excuse to not have any gun control in America. Do you guys seriously want to compare the statistics of homicides between America and other more progressive countries with gun control, like Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, and Netherlands? I don't think you do, you will not come out looking good. And I guarantee a large portion of those homicides were with guns, feel free to prove me wrong though.
I've come to accept the fact that Americans are happy with their gun laws though, no matter the cost. I thought maybe it would be different on Voat, but I've been down this road before, and I guess even the leftist Americans can't fathom having more thorough background checks and tighter restrictions in general. In case anyone is interested in the statistics, here they are; America is just below Niger and Micronesia on the list of intentional homicides per capita, #108.
Anyways, downvoat me to oblivion like you usually do, I'm trying to take away your guns, or it's not the same because you're multicultural (blaming blacks essentially), but it's all bullshit. Other countries deal with the same shit, Canada probably has a lot more variety of cultures than America does. And yes, people actually do reply that shit to me. My apologies to the Americans that have to deal with this, I know it's not all of you.

No sharp objects! Blunt objects either. Even better idea, let's give people psychoactive drugs to make them have better behavior. That always works.

You can miss vital organs with a gun. Knives are much more personal and precise.

I don't know statistics, and they wouldn't really compare due to different gun control laws, but in China they have mass stabbings. People will go into schools and start stabbing all the kids.

When I was taking my CHL class the instructor said if an assailant is closer than 25' and has a knife while your gun is holstered, run! Even if you don't mess up the draw (which is hard because you've got a crazed motherfucker with a knife running at you) you can't get it out in time.
EDIT: added a letter

Maybe we can actually discuss mental illness now.

A reasonable comment, thank you.
