I've always thought that burning flags was wrongly framed as a free speech issue. It's not: it's a property rights issue. You should of course have the freedom to burn any flag you want provided that it's your actual flag that you own (USA flag, Israel flag, Pride flag, Communist flag, etc) and you have the right to burn stuff in the location you choose. (for instance, standing up in the middle of a crowded movie theater and burning a flag could be a hazard)

You should not have the freedom to burn somebody else's flag. The alleged* crime here is that the burned flag was another person's property.

* I said allegedly above because we don't know if this was a false flag by an attention-seeking faggot, which I'd bet is a lot more common than most people think.

I AGREE. I think burning anyone's flag is disrespectful and abhorrent; especially if that flag represents a state or nation - it should then be an affront to every citizen of that state or nation.

I'd prefer people to just refrain from burning flags of any kind. Burning an American flag that you cannot prove ownership of should be treated as a property crime. I make that caveat because how many of those stupid fuckers actually have a receipt for the flag they burn? So that would make it a crime to burn an American flag in those instances which can curtail some of the nauseating practice of the Left or at least give grounds to arrest them. They may beat the rap but can't beat the ride to jail.

But when you burn a flag you don't rightfully own and it is an American flag, I think an extra level of penalty should be applied - like a hate crime. The idea of burning a flag is to foment a violent reaction and as such, if doing so provokes a citizen of this country to violently act against the person fomenting that violence, that should be an extenuating circumstance for mitigating any punishment (within reason) to the attacker.

Just my random thoughts on the issue.

I don't think they consider it disrespectful to burn the fag flag. It just becomes a flaming fag flag.
