At the moment I just use what @thebuddha recommended, it’s easy enough for recording.
Audacity on pc. You can download it for free.
Open .wav file in it, say backing track or pre-recorded instrument. I run a mic through an interface, record vocals directly over track playing then drag that into recording software called Adobe Auditions for tweaking, sound balancing and then export as a .mp3 to upload to instaudio as .wav files are too big...
That’s all I know right now, still learning...
Failing that, I just record on my phone, email it to myself and convert to mp3 in my recording software and upload to Instaudio.

BandLab now gives away Cakewalk Pro for free.. It's definitely the best free offering out there.
