Yeah, it's pretty safe, but as long as you use an approved payment method. That means Paypal, so if you're not willing to work with Paypal, eBay is not for you.

Having said that, eBay+Paypal is pretty safe for buyers. You can complain for pretty much any reason and eBay will side with you and screw the seller if needed. I learned this the hard way and stop selling stuff there, now I only buy

Paypal ? I don't recommend using it (a credit card will be processed by PP but it will not affect the buyer).

Read the ebay contract. PP kills the money back guarantee. So if a seller goes away and is unable to refund you ebay will if you don't have a PP acct ~ I got a refund last month for this reason.

Oh, I had issues 4 yrs ago w/ebay saying that I had to open a PP acct to get the refund. Spoke to one of ebay lawyers and he agreed with me and I got my whopping $30 refund .. have not had issues since.

But once you open that PP acct .. well, now your under PP rules...which I saw something I did not like (likely that it kills the almost perfect, for buyers ~ sucks for sellers, $$ back guarantee).

I suggest people read the ebay contract and PP contract. I was not happy getting PP because I know things can and will go south sometimes and PP simply does not offer the protection that ebay does.

Maybe things are different,, so read the actual contracts.

Money back guarantee works perfectly fine through Paypal. I had to use it once when the item never arrived and the seller disappeared.

On the other hand, I've heard of cases where not using an "approved" payment method left the buyer with no recourse. Don't know if true, since I use Paypal.

What I do advise, for those OK with Paypal, is never to leave any money with them. Transfer to your account and then move it to another account they can't access as soon as you can.

From what i understand, the buyer has all the protection. If something gowes wrong, you complain to ebay and get a refund, most of the time no questions asked.
There are enough ebay buyers that scam sellers like this.

Yes, its buyer friendly. I will not sell on ebay...its not seller friendly at all from what I have read online of sellers whining about ebay and PP.
