Your eye piece actually is a microscope, to magnify the virtual image produced by your objective. To make this clearer, aim your telescope at a bright terrestrial scene, take out the eyepiece and cover the opening with a piece of tissue paper and rack the focuser until the image projected onto the tissue is sharp as possible. Examine the image with a regular magnifying glass. Remove the tissue.

Is that actually a microscope? I would take the eye-piece out of my telescope, flip it backwards and hold it up to my eye with the nug really close to it. Looked very similar to this pic. All those pretty crystals, ready to be set on fire.
