This puts the win over Germany in perspective I hope.

Something seemed off about the US the whole tournament (not counting the cuba game). Same with Mexico. I was hoping to see a US/Mexico final, but I want to see them at their best. I don't know what was wrong with them this tournament.

I wrote about 500 words on the failings of the US in the post match thread on reddit, but apparently my account has been shadowbanned sitewide. I have an account for every year I wasted in that place, and my newest doesn't exist as far as my older accounts are concerned so fuck them. I'll log in one last time to copy it here...Edit incoming.

Bradley was bad tonight. No other word for it. Poor distribution, poor touch, poor decisions. Beckerman was worse. I don't know if Mix is the guy to replace him, but someone needs to. He's been on a steady decline for a while, and he's become a liability. You can't pin this loss solely on the midfield though. Everybody contributed. Iceman put in a lot of effort, but his finishing was awful. That wasn't exactly Neuer out there. Gordon killed any momentum we had in the 2nd half. The game ended when he came on. Johnson was out of position on defense, and no help going forward. Brooks and Alvarado were a terrible tandem. Zardes was ineffective at best. Klinnsman waited too long to make changes. The players panic when they went 2 down. His ra ra speech worked for about 10 minutes in the 2nd half, and then panic set in again. Beckerman should have been off at the half. Yedlin should have come on for Zardes, and 15 minutes sooner. Gordon was worse than a wasted substitution. He's usually very good about adjusting and making the right subs, bit this was not Jurgy's best day.
