The largest dictionary in Africa for native languages has 540 words and is like a cliff's notes in size.

Ah boetie, the Nguni languages all stem from that area. By the time white folks pitched up in 1652, there were no "black" africans in the cape, only Koi/San (bushmen) the only reason they came south is cause shaka was murdering and enslaving all the other tribes. The Nguni come from Congo/

I'm not surprised to see the author of that piece associate the educational failures of South Africans with Apartheid. Typical blame it on whitey mentality. There are plenty of countries surrounding South Africa that did not have Apartheid, and their literacy rates are similar or worse. It wasn't Apartheid that made them illiterate.
