Can you imagine that? Is it be possible that in our lifetime we could migrate to another planet and colonize it? Oh god, that would be awesome! Maybe I'm getting too far ahead of myself...

Well dang we can only hope some new technology is developed to allow fast space travel... While we're still alive :(

It would be quite an adventure. But I think the real problem to over come is getting there.

It's probably something more akin to ' the probability that there are other earth like planets out there is much higher than we thought. ' and don't forget that 'earth like' in NASA terms is mars-level of habitation.

This is the likely answer and the one I don't want.

I don't recall Mars being referred to as Earth-like. Is this true?

Earth like is a pretty broad term, actually, but that's not the point. According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_analog#Mars, Mars falls under that definition of earth like. So...while it's not a lush, green, water filled world, it falls under the umbrella 'earth like' because it does have a lot of features similar to earth's.

I love announcement announcements. Wait, wrong word. Hate. I hate announcement announcements.

I wonder if some lackey at an alien listening post orbiting the moon is thinking "GarZelbec! The hairless monkeys have found our home world! Now what?".

A second Earth? No, no. It's his brother avenging the death of his twin. It's his twin brother!

We're so excited about a potential new Earth, yet we don't give a shit about preserving the one we have.
