Can you imagine that? Is it be possible that in our lifetime we could migrate to another planet and colonize it? Oh god, that would be awesome! Maybe I'm getting too far ahead of myself...

It would be quite an adventure. But I think the real problem to over come is getting there.

I had the unpleasant thought of "What if space was warped like how the Earth is round?" All the effort getting there just to end up at the same planet...
Well I have no idea if such a thing is possible, but it's a thought that happened.

Man, it would be awesome! Even if we just start planning for it it would cause a lot of excitement in the world.

It's probably something more akin to ' the probability that there are other earth like planets out there is much higher than we thought. ' and don't forget that 'earth like' in NASA terms is mars-level of habitation.

I don't recall Mars being referred to as Earth-like. Is this true?

Yep.

Earth like is a pretty broad term, actually, but that's not the point. According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_analog#Mars, Mars falls under that definition of earth like. So...while it's not a lush, green, water filled world, it falls under the umbrella 'earth like' because it does have a lot of features similar to earth's.

This is the likely answer and the one I don't want.
