The Soviets, the more you look into WW2, the more you can see there was no hope for the Axis, and that even if it was a one front war, if Moscow fell, the entire Caucus oilfields with it, the outcome would be the same. After reading Guderian, and 4-5 German officer/soldier war memoirs, you get the impression no one even knows how they came so far to begin with.
