I could run as an independent, I guess. You can't really get into politics here without being already "in" with the political class. The parties choose their candidates based on who they know will tow the line, who they think has mass appeal, and who shares the party's "values".
None of my values and beliefs are palatable to the majority of "normies". In order to get elected, I'd have to run as an independent since I haven't sucked the right dicks, and since most people are very simple politically and just want someone who "seems nice", I'd have to then lie to voters about my actual views to even have a chance at winning, which is already nearly impossible for any independent.
Then the media would catch on that I'm a real person with principles instead of a bought-and-paid-for puppet, and you can't have that, so then they'd do everything possible to unperson me and make sure as few people as possible even know I'm in the race.
Despite all of this, I'm still interested. I'm gonna look into it.

Haha, thanks. It's probably not gonna be next election, to be quite honest. Half of me thinks it's never gonna happen. I doubt myself, but then again, I see some of the politicians we've got now, and I'm not exactly blown away by their brilliance. My biggest weakness is probably people skills. I just don't have a lot of patience for networking and schmoozing and all that. I'm not exactly in my element at fancy champagne dinners, etc. The whole scene kind of offends me, honestly. If I had it my way, politics wouldn't be such a tedious, pretentious business in the first place.

I think that misses the point. It doesn't matter if you, personally, win. It matters that you are being very open and public in your unapologetic and honest advocacy of our people.
You almost certainly won't win, sure. But the more decent White people openly espousing these views, the more normal those views become. The more normies realise that it's okay to feel the discomfort they feel with the globohomo shit, that they're right to love their family and people and nation, that they can also start to openly talk about it.
Perhaps most importantly, if you present as a serious candidate, TPTB won't dare censor you. As long as you don't make any stupid mistakes to give them a convenient excuse, their only option would be straight up persecution of a political opponent; say what you will of the West, we're not that far gone yet.
In essence, it legitimises the ideology. Most people only know "White nationalism" as the evil boogeyman that the nightly (((news))) makes up. Give it a friendly face instead.

they made up so much BS about Trump and much of the public ate it all up. They also made up a ton of BS about Brett Kavanaugh and the public ate that up too.
