The accepted international language is American English.

All foreign international pilots, for example, speak American English with the control towers.

American English is much better.

Yep, in various international settings, american english is used. However, that is by no means the default. Case in point - the UN which is the de-facto "large international body" uses british english. Coding tends to use us english, diplomacy tends to use british english. Also in terms of which is more commonly taught, british english wins by a country mile https://moverdb.com/british-vs-american-english/ .

So no, american english isn't obviously the "accepted international language" - it's english, with no real distinction made between the dialects, since they're both highly mutually intelligible.

American English is much better.

Yeah no. It makes words like honour and colour and valour look silly. And while people who speak british english are perfectly capable of understanding american english, the reverse does not seem to be true. You should see how many mutts react with shock and horror and accusations of being retarded when I spell foetal / foetus correctly, because they can't even use the skills with their "superior" language to either guess or just google it.

It's not an international body. It's a group of government heads who are making a lame attempt to rule the World. Wake up.

diplomacy tends to use british english.

What? Where? I don't think you know what you're talking about.

It makes words like honour and colour and valour look silly.

You still write in Old English, that's why it's different.

people who speak british english are perfectly capable of understanding american english, the reverse does not seem to be true.

Of course. That's because American English is way more understandable! That's why British English sucks so much.

All of the smart people came to America, fought for freedom, and perfected their language. While the poor Brits turned in their guns and stagnated.
