Not my style for working out personally, but I definitely admire this guy and a lot of people could use this kind of kick in the ass.

Nobody is forced to do his workouts. People sign up. Some people get motivated through stuff like this. If you prefer a more gentle approach, go for it. I don't get the outrage. There are many things in this world that are not for me - so I don't do them. I don't harangue people who do. And he's clearly not saying he won't take overweight people - most of the people I saw in that video aren't super fit. He's saying he won't take you if you make excuses or don't stick to the program or cheat. That's the point.

There is none. It's "Dr Phil", which means it's mostly scripted shit blown out of proportion to make mouthbreathers who still have and watch a tv look at his show for 10 minutes before switching to "I am Jazz" and watching a mutilated boy's axe wound between his legs audibly pop open because it didn't heal properly.

And it's really hard to know what's going to motivate you until you actually try it, too. Years ago I had a stomach workout tape from Tony Little--I don't remember where/how I got it, I think my mom bought it off TV or something? I dunno. Anyway, I'd seen some of the guy's late night ads etc. and thought he was annoying as fuck, but I wanted to work on my abs and the tape was there, so I gave it a try.
To my surprise, what seemed annoying as fuck when watching the ads came off as really encouraging and motivating while I was actually doing the workout. It was almost fun to do it because he seemed so friendly, and it was the right amount of pushiness to keep me going without making me want to turn off the tape just to shut him up.
I never developed a six pack, sigh, but my stomach looked great that summer until my work schedule changed (doubled) and I just didn't get back to doing it. But I learned that what I want/need from a coach or trainer is a lot different from what I want for entertainment or a friend.
Of course, the people bitching about this have never worked out a day in their lives, so what do they know?
