Well, duh. I mean, not right now. But, automation is going to create a post-scarcity economy. That's the direction the arrow of capitalism moves.
1000 years (or sometime) in the future, you will be able to 3D print a sports car in your garage for $5.
you will always have scarcity. The amount of production per time is limited. Even space or exclusive time is limited. you'd have to be an idiot...
sure my widget cna create a limo every 10 years for free, but there's only 1 limo for every 10 years dumass!
you will be able to 3D print a sports car in your garage for $5.
Which is still scarce because the cost is not 0 and if it requires any equipement or attention, then the cost is also not 0.
you don't get a vote if you don't contribute. But, if you don't understand a concept like this, then it's probably a good indication you aren't proto-Übermensch material.
Are you creating these boards for all doctors or is it just your little partnership/agreement?
Well, no. Somethings benefit from economy of scale. It's much more efficient if many people are paying for all the roads in the city than it is for each person to pay only for the square meters they specifically use. Unless you want some nanny state tracking you with GPS everywhere you drive and forcibly taxing you for that.
Yes, I'd prefer people pay comensurate to their usage of roads. Secondly, incorporating all roads and combining payments and servicing if it is more efficient does not involve paying for some road you don't use.
There just won't be an obsession with stuff.
you don't know that. I don't see obsession with stuff. and if there is, are you going to violate the NAP for it? There will always be scarcity.
Who wants a sports car when EVERYONE can 3D print one in their garage for $5
I want a dyson sphere. and the sun is very convenient for that. I want so much your pittyful post scarcity is nothing compared to my wants or any person of ambition. I also want, immense ressources for everything, cloning, backups, research. you must be a fool.
And since there's only one sun....
I haven't said anything that is opposed to any of these things.
We'll see about that as you further clarify what I've asked for.
irrational needs as you or I do
My needs are not irrational.
But it's so cheap the value is irrelevant.
There will be expensive things. I will want them, almost anyone would want them. Why? because I need to be safe from your commie ass, so I need 10 versions on me on 10 different planets with their own autarky, and it's going to cost more than the entire psot scarcity my ass economy.
But it's so cheap the value is irrelevant.
False. If there is value, it is not irrelevant. plus, there is always the cost of the space it occupies, and the cost of disposal.
We will build it and you won't partake of it because you didn't contribute. Tyranny!
I bet otherwise. I think if the rothschilds get their way, you'll support it throuhg local politics and everyone else will have to suffer the consequences of your political choices.
So you're telling me, you're never going to have a technocratic state, and you're just going to volutnarily join yourselves and properties into a private corporation that emulates your desired political organization?

Yeah, because it takes 10 years for a limo to go through the production line at the factory. The only difference between here and now is, your garage will be a factory which can configure itself to build nearly anything. Just order the material and robots deliver it to you next day.
And keep in mind here. We aren't talking about a planet of 7 billion mouth breathers. We are talking about a few million Übermensch. So, there's plenty of land to go around. Your garage isn't going to be a small thing that fits 2 cars. It's going to be massive. It will build whatever the fuck you want. Want a space ship? OK cool. The plans are in the database. Press a button and the robots start building it.
post-scarcity does not mean free. Everything is always going to have a cost. But, robots don't care about not getting paid. So when you have 1,000,000 of them digging a mine 24x7, cost goes down drastically. When energy is plentiful, it is cheap. When you have a whole solar system / universe of resources the price of commodities is next to nothing. It will still cost SOMETHING, but the cost will be irrelevant because it's NOT SCARCE or in other words, the economy will be "post-scarcity".
I never said the cost is $0. Nothing costs $0.
Look. 200 years ago, aluminum was so scarce it was worth MORE than gold. Napoleon ate off of aluminum plates instead of fancy silver, gold, or porcelain because it was so valuable.
But, technology progressed and now aluminum is so common it is ALMOST worthless. We have an aluminum post-scarcity economy. There's no reason why we can't apply that to many many other things.
And that's not to say EVERYTHING will be cheap. If you want a custom-designed-one-off-something-or-other that AI can't figure out, you'll still have to consult the engineer. You'll be paying for his respect, so, of course that will make something expensive, sure. But, MOST common things that most everyone needs will be already figured out and those things will be cheap.

So do you still believe in your post scarcity bullshit?
Because if you do, you're too stupid or irrational.
and it is still scarce today.
They will still be scarce.
Food was made incredibly cheap in 200 years, yet it is stills scarce.
No, if it costs something, it's scarce. Scarce doesn't mean very scarce. it means any scarcity at all.
