That's because the entire grocery cart full of food she buys every few days is eaten before it has a chance to touch the table.

I doubt she can fit at the tale, and those shitlord chairs refuse to hold her.

I'm all for people getting benefits if they need assistance. Can we make people take health/nutrition classes taught by people of normal size before receiving those benefits? Then make the person submit receipts and if too much shit crops up their benefits would go away.

There's got to be a better way.....

Why not limit their food. If you need foodstamps you cannot buy soda or chips. You cannot buy sugary drinks you are limited to produce and healthy food.

I think that's how WIC works, but maybe it's only for children / mothers.

What I've been saying for a long time is to make it similar to unemployment. You have to show some form of progress with a trainer or weigh ins to show that you are actively trying to lose weight and get yourself off benefits. No weigh in or you just keep getting worse, you're not trying to help yourself so you get no benefits. Hopefully with having to pay them back in the end as well if you don't actually show progress.

Nutrition classes would save the taxpayers a lot in the long-run. Get 20-30 people in a weekly mandatory nutrition class for eight weeks a year.

Less obesity would lead to less tax-paid hospital stays. Government never thinks long-term though.

Perhaps people on the dole should be required to go to a soup kitchen/cafeteria place to get their meals each day. They have to walk or get transport there. The staff knows they get the good meal and the state knows they are eating. I think that would be a win-win situation. If you can walk you can eat. For all the legitimate disabled/old people on the dole, they get their 3 meals a day delivered in the morning or they get a sign off that they are not abusing the food and get a few days in a row delivered. It works out for all. This would probably save money.

edit: you don't like today's meal options? Lose weight and GET A JOB.

I'm all for the walking around part but that sort of thing can have a negative effect on people trying to get out of being on the dole. For those lazy idiots they can easily pull off walking to a soup kitchen since they got all the time in the world. Whereas for people working jobs but needing assistance in the meantime, it only adds more to the logistical problems of the day. Now they have to factor in traveling across town on top of getting to work. This is especially difficult if the soup kitchen has shitty hours.

If we're talking about restrictions, then why not just assess the health and only give what they need. Sort of like the WIC system that is setup in America. They only get coupons that can only be used for raw items and whatever is on the coupon is what you get. Reason being is because well supermarkets tend to have better hours so it'll make scheduling way more simplier.

Reminds me of the article my local paper ran a couple of years ago. The headline was something like "New food program feeds the hungry in XXXX county", the picture showed a line up of about 10 porkers waiting for their handouts, the average BMI must've been in the triple digits. If I'd have known about FPH then I would have saved it.
