Nope, the trick is to pull your skin away to a safe place a few milimeters and then you can shave no problem.

I do that, which is why my face is not a warzone after every shave. Just making the overall point that there is more risk shaving on an angular face(cheeks and jaw) than for fats.

The 'trick' is to follow the natural contours of your face so that the blades edge only goes in one direction.

As a woman who has to shave a smoother angle than a jaw, my shin, I can completely see it being very easy to nick yourself shaving a sharp jawline. Catch a slick spot and boom. It happens.
